When you finally reach the reception, you end up in a 5 m2 or so room that won't fit more than 4 people. The rooms are good though and at the level you would expect in a Best Western hotel. The low point is the breakfast, which is a relevant factor to many people when choosing a hotel.
The chances of staying again in this hotel when I visit Stone Town again are very low. More

However, there was some sort of power outage at the tulip so... read more they put me in a room at the best western. I was bummed at first since I booked the golden tulip for the outdoor pool and good reviews; however they let still be able to use the pool even though I was placed in a different hotel. The best western ended up being a great hotel. The staff is super friendly. They coordinated tours for me. Even last minute at a good price. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was on the rooftop which was really nice. I watched the sunset a few times. The hotel is also a short 2 min walk from the ferry port and you can see and hear when the ferries arrive. The beds were super comfortable, the shower had really good pressure and got hot! I also had a small balcony with a view to the golden tulip. Only complaint is there is a mosque nearby so when its prayer time, its disturbing, especially at 5 am! Other than that, I have no complaints. The hotel is very clean and rooms are spacious and comfy. The food at the restaurant is also really good. But all of the food in zanzibar is amazing.
